Peter Kleis, President
Mr. Kleis
has been active in the real estate
industry since 1988, beginning his
career with Grubb & Ellis Commercial
Services. Over the past 21 years,
Mr. Kleis has facilitated more than
$1,000,000,000 in real estate
transactions ranging from investment
brokerage and partnership
syndication to development,
construction, asset management and
oversight of personal holdings. He
has negotiated more than 150
property acquisitions and
dispositions and more than 100 lease
transactions. He has successfully
transacted real estate business in
six European markets, four Pan-Asian
markets and twenty major
metropolitan areas in the United
States. Mr. Kleis is the Managing
Partner of more than a dozen real
estate investments and has owned
several companies in addition to
Granite Capital Investments, Inc.
including: Telegis Networks Inc.
and, MarketOne Builders.
Greg Tomlinson, Principal
Mr.
Tomlinson has worked full-time in
the real estate industry since 1986
and since 1993, he has been the
president of Granite Realty
Advisors, Inc., a California
corporation formed to pursue real
estate investments and other
associated activities. Mr.
Tomlinson's experience encompasses
virtually all aspects of investment
real estate. He began his career as
a retail leasing broker
participating in the repositioning
of a 700,000 square foot regional
mall and over the past nearly 25 years, Mr.
Tomlinson has facilitated hundreds
of millions of Dollars in real
estate transactions ranging from
investment brokerage, commercial
leasing, condominium conversions,
repositioning, partnership
syndication, development,
construction, re-modeling, and asset
management of his personal real
estate investments. He is also
particularly effective working with
local governmental officials on
development applications or property
improvements. He has written and had
adopted a complete additional zoning
designation in California and is
also a licensed California real
estate broker.
Mr. Tomlinson
recently served as vice-chairman of
the Planning Commission in Dublin,
California and in 2008, he was
elected a Trustee of the Dublin
Unified School District.
Michael Ziegler, Principal
Michael Ziegler has worked in
commercial real estate for over 28
years, first as an investment real
estate broker, and starting in the early 1990's,
as the founder of Ziegler
Development Corporation, a development company
focused on the adaptive reuse of
large industrial sites.
As an innovative pioneer of the
"sustainable development" approach
to industrial development and
adaptive reuse, he balances
three interrelated forms of capital:
1) Social capital, a vibrant
civil society; 2) Natural
capital, a healthy environment
and efficient use of resources, and
3) Economic capital, a
receptive climate that attracts and
creates new businesses; land,
infrastructure and buildings; new
jobs; local investment of local
money; stable tax revenues; global
competitiveness; and self-reliance
of the local economy.
In recent years, through Michael's
focus on the debt markets, he has
purchased pools of non-performing
and sub-performing loans from banks
and hedge funds and working out
these "toxic" loans to a profitable
outcome.
Michael Ziegler earned his BA in
Philosophy from the University of
California Berkeley, and later got a
MA in Literature and a D.Min. in
Religious Studies. He has been on
the faculty of Naropa, The
California Institute of Integral
Studies and Wisdom University. He is
a licensed Real Estate Broker in the
state of California.
